Try Washi Tape Embroidery with Lucile

Hello friends, it’s Lucile! I am so excited to share this new DIY project with you. I will not lie, I have a lot of washi tape. I think it's one of my favorite scrapbooking supplies! So of course, today's DIY project will feature washi tape!

For this DIY, I started out with an embroidery circle. First, I traced my embroidery circle on a piece of card stock to make a background. Next, I started to paste the washi tape in a pattern. You can choose whatever pattern you want, but I went with chevron stripes. I took out my thread and my needle and sewed the outline of each washi tape to help the different patterns stand out a little better. It's a long process, but makes such a big difference. Next, I glued the bottom to my embroidery hoop with my hot glue gun.

Then, I cut a banner on a white sheet of card stock and I stuck on a title. White makes the title stand out really nicely! I also added some lemon ephemera. I wanted to create an embellishment to put on the clip of my embroidery circle, so I made a tassel with orange embroidery thread, two lemons, and a tag.

Finally, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a flower and leaves. I assembled them and stuck them on my banner. I also add a flower from the "Stay Sweet" collection by Amy Tangerine. And that is all! I hope you love this DIY project and that it sparked some washi tape inspiration! See you soon for a new creation.
