Who else is counting down the days until Christmas? I love this time of year for so many reasons, but I especially love decorating my house with all the Christmas things! So when the new Santa Tracker Globe from 1Canoe2 arrived on my doorstep, I was so excited to show it off by creating an advent train to countdown the days until Santa delivers all of his presents around the globe.
The globe comes with several magnets and a cork Santa image which means it’s ideal to track Santa’s flight-path on Christmas Eve! I created a little Santa Sleigh to store the extra magnets until they’re used on Christmas Eve, and the sleigh can be placed and removed from the top of one of the train carriages.
There are loads of real-time Santa Trackers available online that will tell you where Santa is currently delivering presents to on Christmas Eve. So I’ve also included a label from the ‘Stargazer’ ephemera pack in the sleigh, which you can use to note down where Santa is at what time on Christmas Eve and grab a magnet to place on the corresponding place on the globe. I think this is an ideal activity to do with children and one which I know my smaller family members will love!
I love the build-up to Christmas and advent calendars are always a big part of our Christmas celebrations. I’ve been really enjoying being a little braver with what I’m creating with my die-cutting machine and putting together this advent train was definitely a little bit trickier than what I’m used to! However, once I got the hang of everything it was pretty quick to assemble.
I used the Sweater Weather collection because I thought the light, pastel colours would compliment the globe well. Each train carriage has a different colour scheme and is decorated in a different way, because I think it creates a much more whimsical and cute overall appearance.
Each carriage is a box with separate compartments to put an advent gift in each day. I think this calendar is the perfect accompaniment to countdown the days until Christmas Eve when you can start tracking Santa’s flight-path!
And I finally placed the globe and advent train next to my DCWV letterboard and created another countdown to complete my Christmas display! Can you tell that I’m excited for Christmas?!
Thanks for stopping by everyone and I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at my Christmas Countdown display using the 1Canoe2 Santa Globe, and you’ve got some inspiration on how to display and use your Globe this festive season!
