Hi American Crafts fans! Are you ready for a fantastic crafting afternoon with your kids? Today I’m sharing an easy-peasy and super fun summer craft project that I made with my daughter on a rainy day. We decided to create a colorful banner to decorate my daughter’s room. To start, we grabbed circle punches and some cute ephemera pieces or stickers from the Wild Card collection.
In order to create the 3D animals, pick out card stock that matches each animal. Using a circle punch, cut six circles out of each color of card stock. Make sure the circle punch size corresponds with the size of the ephemera.
Next, we took 5 circles, folded them in half, and glued them together. Add glue to the back of the first half circle, and align the next half circle directly onto the first. Add the remaining three circles on using the same technique. To create the perfect paper ornament, make sure the circle is perfectly even on all sides.
Next, we chose a cute ephemera piece and cut it in half. We adhered the two halves to the back of the paper ornament and covered the back with the sixth circle we punched out earlier.
We couldn’t resist creating 12 pieces from these adorable 3D embellishments. It is the perfect sized banner for the space above my daughter's bed. We attached the pieces with baker twine and used hot glue gun to keep them in place.
If you have some cute ephemera pieces at home, why not make a one-of-a-kind banner? Your kids will love putting together this adorable home decoration, and they can even create specific pieces to match their room.
