Hello American Crafts Fans, it’s Terhi here inspiring you with a wreath design scrapbook page created with Shimelle’s Never Grow Up collection!
There are lots of icons and phrases of different activities in Shimelle’s new line, still I chose to feature billions of butterflies in my newest scrapbook page. I fell in love with Never Grow Up the second I saw it. I especially love the beautiful blooms, leaves, and butterflies. This is the perfect scrapbook collection to document any occasion!
The wreath idea was born a couple of months ago when all the stores were selling wreaths for Christmas decorations. I thought it would be fun to build up a wreath like design on paper. Flowers would have been the obvious way to make the wreath idea happen, but Shimelle’s butterflies came in and changed my plans in a very good way. Take a look to the details, I love building layers!
The butterflies I used for this page are incredibly pretty, but there’s much deeper meaning to choosing the butterflies instead of the fish or frogs. The one in the middle of my photo makes me feel all sorts of butterflies!
I chose the blue and green toned butterflies and fussy cut them out of the patterned paper called "Flutter By" from the Never Grow Up collection. This sheet is full of butterflies and I used one full sheet to create this layout.
Fussy cutting is something you either love or hate. I love it, but totally understand people who prefer running away from scissors. If fussy cutting doesn’t make you relax and happy, fortunately there are enough ways to slide it around.
How To: The process of fussy cutting was the first (and longest) step to creating this layout. I got my paper and scissors and relaxed while watching a movie. Next, I drew a couple of loose circles in the middle of the white cardstock I used as a background. The circles helped me focus my wreath to the correct place. I added a couple peices of patterned paper behind the photograph to build some lovely layers. I used lots of foam dots to add the butterflies! I used a few leaves to support the circle design.
Finally, I added the thickers on top the photo, glued down some small embellishments, and flicked some drops of watercolors here and there. Minus the fussy cutting, the process took only fifteen minutes. If you don't like fussy cutting, use some stickers or embellishments instead.
Thank you so much for taking time to visit here, I hope you feel inspired! Keep on scrapbooking, especially about your loved ones for Valentine’s Day.
