Hello crafty friends, it's Lucile! Do any of you struggle with finding the perfect Valentines gift? Today, I have an adorable Valentine's Day card tutorial! I made these colorful cards using Amy Tangerine's "Stay Sweet" collection. The designs from this collection are adorable! Both of the cards I made are square and use a base of white card stock.
For the first card, I used a purple and pink patterned paper. Then, I cut the orange paper slightly smaller. The pink border really helps bring out the orange.
Next, I cut triangles from different papers from the collection. I assembled two triangles with the same patterns and I sewed them. Then, I folded the edges to add some volume. I assembled the triangles by varying the patterns to form a heart in the center of my card.
Then, using my silhouette Cameo, I cut flowers in a variety of sizes. I stacked the flowers together, according to size, and I folded the edges up to add a 3D effect. To accentuate the flowers, I added leaves. I simply traced and cut out the leaves, then folded them in half and added them to the side of the flowers.
I used a similar color scheme on the next card. For the background, I used two different papers with coordinating colors.
Next, I cut out hearts and folded them in half to give a 3D effect. I pasted an embellishment in the center and placed all my hearts around it.
Finally, I sewed my hearts through the center with a white thread. I love the sewing effect, It adds the perfect finishing touch. It also helps the hearts stay folded.
