Delivering Gifts in a Custom Bag

The papers in the Sweater Weather line reminded me of family nights by the fire. I thought a cozy night in with some tea and chocolate, all snuggled up with a book would be perfect! So I made a gift bag containing just that!

This project was made quickly and inexpensively by using a value pack pre-made gift bag. I covered the front of the black bag with patterned papers, and made two bookmarks, and a chocolate bar wrapper to go inside. Some tins of loose leaf tea can also go in the bag.

Cover the gift bag with two patterned papers from the Sweater Weather line. Any craft supply store should carry the bags, or you could cut one out with your electronic die -cutting machine. I used the American Crafts Double-sided Super Sticky Red Tape to adhere the paper so it wouldn't come off in colder weather. I side the Bundle Up, and January Blossoms paper.

I made two bookmarks at 2” by 6” and rounded the top two corners with the We R Memory Keepers 1/4 inch Corner Chomper. On the back of the “Cozy” paper, I hand-lettered inside the labels, the words “read, sip, and repeat”. It adds a little touch that coordinates with  the theme of the gift bag. The double sided 12 x12 inch paper comes in handy when making a bookmark.

The finished gift bag and bookmarks are above. I added the penguin , tag, and heart from the Die Cut pack in this line. You can raise them up on different heights of foam dots to add some interest. How cute is that penguin?
