Hiya! It’s Jamie and today I’m sharing a non-traditional 4th of July layout using Amy Tangerine’s On a Whim collection!
Every year, we spend the 4th of July at the beach. Well, we don’t exactly spend much time at the beach. But we do spend a lot of time out by the pool. It’s a fun relaxing weekend with family. Sometimes we bbq but often we don’t.
There’s very little red, white and blue to be seen. Instead the turquoise of the pool, the green of the palm trees, the neon of the pool toys are what I think of when I think of the 4th of July.
Amy Tangerine’s On a Whim collection was perfect to pair with these bright tropical photos. And I loved how perfect all of the phrases included in the sticker book, ephemera pack and chipboard thinkers, were alongside the photos. Also, they added some great pops of color around the page.
I took a lot of photos over the weekend. Just everyday shots of us around the house. I wanted to include as many as possible on this 12×12 layout, so I arranged them in a mock photo strip in Photoshop Elements and printed them out with white borders. The border helped to differentiate between each photo and the background paper. And, smaller photos make everyone feel a bit more comfortable when it comes to those bikini shots. Ya know? I managed to include 11 photos on the front of this page.
For the journaling, I used the washi tape set to create lines. I love the mix of patterns in the set! My favorite one is that cool blue with the multi colored polka dots! I handwrite everything out, using the washi tape as my guide.
This pages feels like the 4th of July to me. Well, our version of the 4th of July! I love the bright happy vibe!
