Hello all, it’s Terhi Koskinen here for the first time and I just couldn’t be more excited! All my dreams have become true and now I’m actually posting my first project here to American Crafts blog, what a huge honor.
As the time of Halloween and Thanksgiving is full of parties and other events, I thought to use the amazing Goldenrod collection to create some easy treats to give away for party participants. What would be nicer than a small handmade box filled with sweets, tiny jewelry or maybe just a handwritten note telling something special for your favorite people.
There are two easy ways to create boxes like mine. You can either use the We R Memory Keepers Scoreboard and follow the instruction written to the backside of the board. Or then grad a ruler and scissors and start folding and cutting.
I ended up using the Scoreboard as it’s always on my table and folding is so easy with it. And in addition, I didn’t have think any numbers or measures, just followed the dimensions said on the instructions. Five minutes and first box was already done!
After creating the boxes I got to the phase I love the most: decorating. The Goldenrod collection includes so many beautiful patterns and designs, so it was hard to pick the products to go with. I decided to go with the big white flowers from “Raleigh Floral” patterned paper. The same paper is repeated in smaller form in the 6×6 paper pad, you can see those small flowers on top of each gift box. The flowers I used are all cut out from papers, but they are available in the Goldenrod ephemera and stickers too.
Another main embellishment is the Goldenrod Clothespins, I just love the way the give a whole new look to the gift boxes! I used the Clothespins to hang the cards I wrote to go with the boxes.
This kind of addition to your party decoration is easy and quite quick to do. It also serves as a small goodie bag to your guests, everyone enjoys small gifts!
