Hello and welcome to the American Crafts blog today. I created some stylish cards with the new Twilight collection from One Canoe Two. When I was browsing the collection the first things that caught my eye was the beautiful, soft color palette and the dreamy icons. I immediately knew that I could create a million cards using them!
I started my cards with selecting my materials and choosing a color palette. I chose a matching colored cardstock base for each card, trimmed them and folded in half into square form. My cards are 4.25×4.25 in size. In the center of the first card is a lovely wood veneer jar with a peach cardstock sticker. I fussy cut some white flowers from the Evening Posies paper and arranged all the pretties around the wood veneer jar. For creating the background of my card, I layered a tag and different patterned papers.
There are gorgeous icons and phrases in this collection, I chose a tag with gold accent as the center of my second card and layered with some ephemera pieces. I used the pretty clothespin to keep them together. The die-cut flowers and alphabet stickers were perfect finishing touch.
On my next card I was drawn to the beautiful pink die cut flower and the gold rub-ons …who can resist? I adhered the die cut piece to the background paper using foam tape, and layered journaling tag and sticker label behind. I placed the LOVE wood veneer piece on the top and added some shiny rub-ons. I think these die-cuts are my favorite from the whole collection so far.
For the fourth card I chose a dark grey card stock as my base and embellished the card with dark sticker. I think it’s really elegant and simple in this way. I also added some gold rub-on and a wood button to make the card look really unique.
