Hello everyone, it’s Zinia here and today I’d like to share with you a layout I created for Father’s day. The last couple of years, I’ve been making Father’s day layouts and gifting them to my dad in a frame. I really love using layouts as wall art pieces rather than just storing them in an album. They make really beautiful gifts.
For this layout I decided to use the It’s all Good collection by Dear Lizzy. I really like the hashtag elements in this collection and I wanted to incorporate some of that on my layout. I wanted my design to be relatively simple, so to make sure it’s exciting and interesting, I used a lot of dimensional elements.
My process for making this layout was a bit unusual because I started with my title. I really loved the large thicker phrase and I decided to work around that for my title. I clustered a few card stock and layered stickers next to it leaving a space for my photo.
Since all my elements were clustered in the center of the page, I used a strip of paper at the bottom of my page to bring more color to the edges.
To fill some more of the white space around the edges, I punched a few hashtags from white card stock and sprinkled them around the page using foam dots. This way I only added a subtle white on white effect that didn’t overwhelm my design.
I hope this simple yet elegant design has sparked your creative juices! Don't forget, Father's day is coming up! See you next time, Zinia.
