A Guide to Fussy Cutting with Zinia
Hello everyone! It’s Zinia here and today I’m back with a simple tutorial on how to create a beautiful floral layout using the Saturday Afternoon collection by 1Canoe2.
This is a truly gorgeous collection and there are so many ways to use it but for this layout, I wanted to focus on the stunning large floral images on some of the paper patterns.
This design requires a little bit of fussy cutting so I always like to start with that part to get it out of the way. First we need to cut out an abstract border from the back side of the Sunshine Stripes paper. This paper is full of little triangles and they work great as cut guides!
Next I cut out some flower images from the Double Tulips paper. They are darling, I love the look they add to the final product.
Once I finished fussy cutting, I began to assemble the page. I’m using a white piece of card stock as my base here but you can try different colors or patterns if you wish. Next, stick the triangular border on the right half of the page and build a large floral border on the left side.
To cover the center line between those two elements, I used some other floral embellishments of the collection. On my layout I used a mix of layered, card stock and foam stickers.
Last but not least, I finished off the design by adding our photo and title.
It’s a really quick and easy layout to create, plus you can easily adjust it and recreate it with any of your favorite American Crafts collections.
Thanks for visiting, I can't wait to see what you create! Happy crafting!
