8 Great Tips for Creating a Mini Album

Hello American Crafts fans! It’s Sandra welcoming you to the American Crafts Studio Blog with a new creation! The new year has just started and if you're like me, you have set goals for 2020. Today, I’m sharing a few tips on how to display your goals and resolutions in a creative way with Vicki Boutin’s Let’s Wander Collection.

The Let’s Wander Tag Journal Pieces Set is a wonderful addition to creating a mini album like this one. The journaling tags and embellishments come with a pre-punched hole at the top. Just add a ring binder and you’ve got the base for the mini album.

Tip 1- Use stencils for decoration! For my title page, I used one of the journal tags and added a star pattern with the Starstruck Stencil Pack and embossing paste. I also die-cut the word ‘Goals’ from patterned paper and attached it with liquid glue.

Tip 2- Die-cut stars (or other elements). I die-cut some stars with the Stamp and Die Set and noted down my goal with a black pen along the edges of the stars. The essence of this goal is to be in the moment.

Tip 3- Write your goal onto the small tag with the heart and back it with patterned paper. You can also add some sewing lines with your sewing machine.

Tip 4- Integrate a cute accordion fold mini into the main mini album. I used some of the polaroid strips from the Let’s Wander paper ‘Picture Perfect’. I cut the polaroid strips and scored them with a bone folder. Then I wrote down my goals by adding a few words with a black pen. I also added one of the cute envelopes from Let’s Wander. The envelopes come with mini cards. These are perfect for small messages and notes.

Tip 5- Create smaller pages with journaling tags, pre-made embellishments, and polaroid frames to make the mini album more interesting. Add little details like handmade florals, envelopes, or a die-cut kite.

Tip 6- Write your goals onto small pieces of white cardstock and glue them onto a journaling tag. Add some stitching and small embellishments. I went for a whimsical look with this mini album page.

Tip 7- Write your goals onto small strips of white paper and thread them onto a string. You can also add some sequins and die-cut stars to decorate your mini album page.

Tip 8- Create a handmade tag with patterned paper and transparent paper. Write your goal onto the transparent paper with a black pen. Sew along the edges of the tag with your sewing machine to add a nice eye-catcher.

I hope you like my mini album inspiration and my tips! Wishing you a lovely day.
