Sweater Weather Layout by Meghann

Hey there! It is Meghann here with you today, and sweater weather is quickly approaching, so why not pick up the aptly named Sweater Weather collection today to scrapbook your winter memories? Today I’m here to share a page that I created  to document my daughter’s first experience with snow, and although I missed it, I was relieved to have an account and a photo from my parents all about her snowy day.

To give the background a tone-on-tone snowfall, I used two different Silhouette doily cut files, in the same AC white cardstock as my page background. After cutting nine of them in different sizes, I arranged the doilies along my background in three different “buntings.” I backed my 4” x 6” photo with Snuggles and Cocoa, Winter Wonderland and Remember When patterned papers, roughing-up the edges with my scissors for texture.

In between these “snowflake” doilies, I added ephemera die-cuts and cardstock stickers from the Sweater Weather collection. I especially loved the little mittens and knitted sweater in the ephemera die-cut pack, and these added color and differing shapes to the background.

My largest snowflake was placed at the base of my layout below my photo, and I backed the doily with a piece of the Remember When patterned paper to give some weight to my title, which I created with the Sweater Weather Thickers and “snow” ephemera die-cut.

My journaling was typed on a journaling tag from the Snuggles and Cocoa patterned paper and tucked between the layers of my photo mat and I added the cute snowman from the ephemera die-cuts on the corner of the photo. To finish off the layout, I stamped small “confetti” around my bunting with the end of a pencil eraser, then scattered small gold foil Thicker hearts around the page before adding a triangle of patterned paper to each corner. This fun and wintery layout records a special day for my daughter just perfectly, and I loved creating it with the Sweater Weather collection! Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
