Hello there! Have you ever wanted to create a handmade card, but just wasn’t sure where to begin? For me, inspiration is always key for successful creating, and when I received the new American Crafts Sticker Books, full of perfect sentiments and beautiful illustrations, I was so inspired to create handmade greetings that I just had to create a card with each one!
This motivational card was so easy to put together with a punch, white cardstock and the Shimelle sticker book! The sweet, colorful sticker dots inspired me to create a ruffled effect at the base of the card, using the scalloped edge punch in the Knock Outs border punches set, and I topped that with my “you are capable of amazing things” sentiment. Above that, I added the sweet, winking girl and surrounded her with colorful stars and speech bubbles.
The One Canoe Two sticker book includes beautiful, natural illustrations and colors. I was inspired by the “sending you sunshine” sentiment tag to add the same colors to my white cardstock background, so I grabbed my Creative Devotion Gel Crayons to add a splash of the sunset. My favorite stickers in the entire book were the butterfly stickers, so I chose three that matched the tag, and adhered them to white cardstock and vellum, so that the largest butterfly could retain its transparency. Once I added those to the card, a quick addition of the scalloped gingham border sticker and a few hearts and stars were all that was needed.
The Dear Lizzy sticker book is like a party of color and designs, so I chose to create my own party decor on a card with three different banners above the “hey, hey, hey” sentiment. I used the same pink, yellow and navy colored thread as appeared in the banner stickers to add machine stitching for that extra special touch.
I love the fun mix of vintage and botanical illustrations included in the Vicki Boutin sticker book! I used small stickers in different shapes to create a 3 x 4 grid on my white cardstock background, adding the largest sticker “make it shine” for my sentiment. To make this a birthday card, I added the number “9” to my grid background, and the “celebrate right now” transparent sticker underneath my main sentiment.
With so many amazing illustration and saying stickers included in each of these sticker books, the card creating possibilities are endless, and I know they will inspire you to mail that handmade greeting you’ve been meaning to send today!
