Make a Cute and Classy Easter Card Duo with Meghann

Hello there, AC fans! It’s Meghann Andrew with you today. Easter is just around the corner! Why not create handmade greeting cards to give alongside those stuffed Easter baskets? Today I’m here to share two Easter cards that you can create with American Crafts collections: cute and classy. Lets start with cute!

I started off with the fun floral pattern from the Shine On collection, but I needed something to place in the center to frame my sentiment. That’s when I grabbed the Head in the Clouds journaling pad. The scalloped circle journaling shape was the perfect piece to add to the center of my card, so I fussy-cut it out and adhered to my card background with dimensional adhesive. My “Happy Easter” sentiment came from the versatile holiday card-making sticker book, and I added that to the bottom of the circle.

I was going for a "cute" card, so of course I pulled out the hopping bunny from the Shine On die-cuts. It was practically made for this card! The bunny was the perfect center of my scalloped circle, but he needed something colorful to frame him. That’s when I grabbed the watercolor stickers from the All the Good Things collection and my Stay Sweet watercolor set. I love that I can color these to my liking, and I decided on pink, yellow and purple hues to give the card a springy feel. I accented these big blooms with smaller, colorful flowers from the Stay Sweet sticker book and puffy stickers. To finish off my card, I added three colorful Stay Sweet enamel hearts.

For my classy card, I decided on a religious theme. I began by cutting the 4" x 6" floral journaling card from the Saturday Afternoon Clips patterned paper. I then adhered it to a coral card stock background. At the center of the card, I added the Creative Devotion "praise" scripture sticker. This provided the perfect sentiment for my card! To balance out the floral at the bottom left corner of the card, I added the Saturday Afternoon foam flower to the top right corner. This created the perfect frame! Next, I added the John 3:16 scripture, the green tab from the Faith sticker book and added them to the bottom right corner of the card. I made that into an embellishment grouping by adding the “this day” sentiment and blue hexagon from the Saturday Afternoon card stock stickers. I topped with it off with a gold cross from the Creative Devotion accent stickers.

To further balance out the card, I added two more hexagon stickers to the left of the sentiment. To make the card extra classy and beautiful, I added three pearl stickers. Pearls make everything classy, right?!
