Hello friends! Leigh here, and I am so excited to be using the new Creative Devotion line this week! I was inspired by the pastel pumpkin trend and used the Creative Devotion Gel Crayons to make the watercolor pumpkins on this layout. The Prayer Journal, available in this line, was the perfect place to enjoy all the available art mediums for this type of documenting.
This two page layout in the Creative Devotion Prayer Journal started with the quote on the left-hand side. I hand-lettered it onto the Scripture Paper Pad and washi-taped it to the page. The vellum pages in the Scripture Pad give another texture and layer to create interest, and you could add photos or journal cards underneath if you desire.
For the right side of the layout, I printed a photo of the pumpkins on our dining table, and hand lettered the word “harvest” to the left of the photo.The stickers from the Texture Stickers pack add some color and texture behind the photo. The eight spools of washi in the Washi Tape Spools Pack give you lots of choices, and I added a strip to the top of the photo.
For the bottom of the right-hand page, I layered a cross sticker, a rub-on, and the fussy-cut watercolor pumpkins. Those rub-ons go on like butter, and I love how they look as if they were painted or printed on the page. A strip of washi under the pumpkins grounds them to the page. There is a lot of color on the page, so I chose the neutral black and white washi patterns for both sides of the layout.
Here is the final look after the pen, with the journaling for the week filled out. To me, it looks like a cross between an art journal and a Traveler’s Journal layout. The beauty of the Creative Devotion line, is you can make it whatever you want!
