How to Create a Beautiful Layout with Wildflower & Honey
Hey there everyone! Terhi here with you today, sharing the excitement of all the new collections released during this summer! Today I’m inspiring you with scrapbook layout made using Wildflower and Honey collection, which is designed by Vicki Boutin. The collection is perfect and honest Vicki style from papers to stencils, to embellishments and much more.
Wildflower and Honey has all kind of cute things included, but the 12 x 12 Specialty Paper really got my attention. In addition to my favorite decorating elements, butterflies, the Specialty Paper is actually vellum with golden details! The butterflies are colored beautifully looking like they’re painted with watercolors and the vellum is very easy to cut.
Cutting mentioned, that really was my starting point for the whole creating process of this page. Once I had couple of vellum butterflies ready, I continued to the patterned papers and fussy cut some other elements from there. I cut out hearts, some leaves and flowers, and finally bunch of honeycomb pieces.
After the cutting party I only arranged the fussy cut pieces onto white cardstock with my photographs. As I love easy scrapbooking, I only used watercolors to add some interest and that’s it!
If you ever feel like you don’t know how to start designing a layout, try the same recipe I used to create this layout: Adhere a photo or two to the middle of a cardstock, and continue with different sized elements to both sides. You can use ephemera, stickers or anything you want, or then follow my example and use fussy cut the elements you want to work with.
No matter what you are going to use, add the biggest elements first right next to the photos and the smallest ones to the edges. Use different adhesives to build up dimension, and don’t forget the art of layering.
This kind of setting always turns the attention to the photographs, so it works no matter which collection or which theme you are working with.
Hope this inspires you to create something beautiful this weekend!
