Hello crafty friends, it’s Lucile! To start I wanted to wish you a happy, healthy, and crafty 2020! Today, I am going to show you how I created two beautiful cards. Because of social networks, people typically don't send cards anymore. But it is so nice to receive something tangible and beautiful! This was also my first project using Shimelle's new "Never Grow Up" collection. I love this collection! It is so cute and versatile.
To create this cards, I chose a dark paper as the background because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone. I didn't use any die cuts! Instead, I cut the patterned paper to create my own embellishments.
For the first card, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the phrase "hello newest year." I cut it onto my background paper and then added a pink paper underneath to add a contrast. I also added pink enamel dots to decorate my message.
I fussy cut some butterflies from the patterned paper and sewed them to the side of the card. Finally, I folded their wings up to add volume to my card.
For the second card, I started by drawing two circles on my paper. Then I cut out more circles from the patterned paper. I glued them following the lines of my circles and I sewed them with a white thread to add a little extra decoration. Then I added "2020" which I cut out of pink paper using my Silhouette.
Finally, I used silver embellishments to add a shiny accent to my card. I hope you like these two cards and that you have been inspired to send your friends something handmade and pretty! Have a nice day, see you soon!
