Hi there everyone! I’m Obed and this is my first time here on the American Crafts blog. I’m so excited and thrilled and just wanted to send a huge thanks to the AC team for having me on their new 2019-2020 design team. It’s a great honor and a privilege to be here. It’s Thanksgiving Paper Crafting Week and I couldn’t love it more. I live in Spain but I’m half American so we’ve always celebrated Thanksgiving at home. Every year we find a way to gather around the table and celebrate. Everyone at home is in charge of something on Thanksgiving and I’m obviously in charge of decorating and all things crafty. I always try to mix things up and try different things. Last year, I made a paper leaf wreath and some table decorations. This year, I’m giving you my tips to make the cutest party favors. Es la semana de Acción de Gracias Paper Crafting, y no me podría gustar más. Vivo en España pero soy mitad estadounidense, así que siempre hemos celebrado el Día de Acción de Gracias en casa. Cada año encontramos la manera de reunirnos alrededor de la mesa y celebrar aunque, a veces es bastante difícil ya que no es festivo nacional aquí. Cada uno se encarga de algo para Thanksgiving y yo por supuesto me encargo de toda la decoración y manualidades. Siempre trato de probar cosas diferentes, el año pasado hice una corona de hojas de papel y algunas decoraciones de mesa. Así que este año, te doy mis consejos para hacer los detalles más bonitos para el gran día. ¿Estás lista? ¡Vamos a hacerlo!
I’ve created three types of party favors, so you can choose your favorite and create your own! Party favors are the cherry on top and the best little gift to send home with your Thanksgiving guests. I’ve created a paper candy shaped box, a heart box, and a paper envelope favor. All three are super easy and so fun to make.
He creado tres tipos de cajitas o detalles de fiesta, para que puedas elegir tu favorito y crear el tuyo propio. Los detalles de fiesta son el mejor regalo para enviar a casa con tus invitados de Acción de Gracias, especialmente si está hecho a mano. He hecho una caja confitera en forma de caramelo de papel, una caja confitera con forma de corazón y un regalito en forma de sobre de papel. Los tres son muy fáciles y tan divertidos de hacer.
For the candy shaped box, I cut out the template on my Cameo, then I used double-sided tape to seal the box. Fill the inside with candy, chocolate, or your favorite treat. To close them I used ribbon on the ends. I also added a little tag to write a sentiment with some die cuts from the “She’s Magic” collection by Dear Lizzy together with some leaves (cut with my cameo).
Para la caja en forma de caramelo, corté la plantilla con mi Cameo, luego usé cinta adhesiva de doble cara para sellar la caja. Llena el interior con dulces, chocolate o tu golosina favorita. Para cerrarlos utilicé cinta en los extremos, también agregué una pequeña etiqueta para escribir un mensaje con algunos die cuts de la colección "She's Magic" de Dear Lizzy junto con algunas hojas (cortadas con mi cameo).
I cut the heart box with my Cameo as well and decorated the sides with some washi tape. It’s always the perfect addition. For the envelope boxes I used small paper treat envelope bags and decorated the front of them. To decorate them, I used die cuts and frames from the “She’s Magic” collection by Dear Lizzy. To close these envelopes you can use ribbon, string, or some mini wooden clothespins decorated with some coordinating washi tape. I used both languages, English and Spanish on my tags since our household is a mix of both. I also wanted to include the Spanish speaking community of crafters in my project.
Corté la caja del corazón con mi Cameo también y decoré los lados con un poco de cinta washi, siempre es el complemento perfecto. Para los regalitos en sobre, utilicé pequeñas bolsas de papel y decoré la parte delantera de ellas. Para decorarlas, utilicé die cuts y marcos de la colección "She's Magic" de Dear Lizzy. Para cerrar estos sobres se puede utilizar cinta, cuerda o algunas pinzas de madera decoradas con washi tape, como yo. Usé los dos idiomas, inglés y español en mis etiquetas ya que nuestro hogar es una mezcla de ambos y también quería incluir a la comunidad de scraperos y scraperas de habla hispana en mi proyecto.
