Fringe Pencils + Card

Hello there!  I don't know about you, but I love to get crafty with scissors. There are so many possibilities even with regular straight edged scissors.  I have a fun project to share with you today on how I made these cute fringe pencils and fringe card.

To make them you'll need….
  • patterned papers
  • straight edged scissors or fringe scissors
  • sticky tape
  • washi tape
  • pencils

To create my fringe pencils I started by cutting my paper to measure 8 1/2 x 3 and I folded it in half before cutting slits with straight edged scissors.  Next I used double sided super sticky red tape to adhere them to each pencil.  At the base of the fringe, I added washi tape to hold everything in place.

To create my card I used leftover fringe pieces and layered them starting at the bottom of the card and working up.  Next, I added a floral sticker strip and a piece of washi tape.  I added a die cut phrase (hello) on top.  I used foam tabs to adhere a star die cut to give it a little dimension.  I finished up by adding a wood button and a phrase tag.

I hope you enjoyed my project today and are inspired to get crafty with scissors.  These fringe pencils and card are just perfect to brighten someone's day.
