Hello everyone, it’s Zinia here! Today I’m really excited to share a project with you that I created with Shimelle’s latest collection, Field Trip.
This collection is full of fun images in a school/science kind of theme. I really love that it brings together a futuristic space scene with the prehistoric dinosaurs. This collection will work great for both genders, as well as any back-to-school themed projects your heart desires.
For my craft today, I’ll be turning one of the 12×12 papers into a beautiful wall art piece for a little boy’s room.
The paper that inspired me to do so is “In the Wind”. It has a really beautiful volcano/jungle scene and I thought it’d be really fun to add more elements and turn it into a 3D paper art piece.
I pulled some dinosaur images from the ephemera pack and placed them on the little islands in the scene. For the sky, I found a beautiful rocket in the embossed puffy stickers pack which I placed in the middle of the page.
To add a sense of depth in the design, I placed an oversized floral cluster at the front of the page with a little flag I fussy cut out of another paper.
To add a few more details, I placed some stars in the sky. I used both puffy and enamel stickers in a variety of sizes and colors.
If you make pages to use as wall décor make sure you protect them somehow from dust. The easy (and cheaper) way to do this is to just put them in a page protector. I usually cut off the ring holes of a few page protectors and I use those to put layouts on the wall.
If you want to do something fancier, you can put the page in a 12×12 picture frame (or a slightly bigger square frame if you don’t mind a little bit of border around).
Thanks for visiting the AC blog today! I hope this project inspired you to test out the Field Trip collection on some of your own projects!
