Creating with Stay Colorful

Hey AC friends, it’s Elsie here! I had so much fun diving into the newest Dear Lizzy collection ‘Stay Colorful’. There are loads of beautiful papers and embellishments to create with and be inspired by, it’s definitely one to have on your scrappy shopping lists!

It was hard not to use as much as possible on a single page because everything is so pretty! But because this collection is called ‘Stay Colorful’ I decided to, well… keep it colourful by using paper ‘Awesome Possum’ as my starting point. I love the look of the painted stripes of colour in a rainbow order which meant that it was the perfect paper to create a large rainbow in the centre of my page!

Obviously the colours in the rainbow match the colours from the rest of the collection, so any embellishment I used matched really well which made this page come together in no-time. As I made this page I found that I wasn’t second-guessing myself at all, like I usually do, because everything was so cute and easy to use!

One of my favourite embellishments from this collection are the glittered die-cut phrases. There are gold glitter as well as white glitter phrases which I’m overly excited about because (I’ll let you in on a little secret…) I actually prefer white glitter to gold! Shock! Horror!

I used a tone-on-tone technique by using the white glitter ‘Stay Magical’ as my title and adhering it to my white background! I love the way the glitter makes it stand out from the rest of the background, but doesn’t overwhelm all of the other elements on the page.

One of my favourite embellishments from the collection are the layered stickers. I used the unicorn on this page which has gold foiling on it as well as a ribbon tail – so adorable!

And yes, I did pop the ice cream van and strawberry puffy stickers on the rainbow to make it look like it was driving along and leaving a trail of strawberries behind! I couldn’t resist doing that!

The clusters of houses are fussy-cut from the ‘Happy Days’ paper and I think they really up the whimsiness of this page! These are so easy to cut out and use as embellishments, so I can see myself using them a lot on future pages.

Talking of fussy-cutting, I never resist a butterfly paper and so I used the ‘Farrah Forever’ paper and cut-out some of the butterflies to scatter all over the page as my final finishing touch! Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you’re inspired to use the newest Dear Lizzy collection for your next crafty projects!
