Create a Patriotic Banner

Hi everyone!  I have a simple patriotic banner to share with you today!  Store bought party decorations are great and very handy, but I wanted to create my own banner for Fourth of July using products that I already had on hand.

I started out my process by flipping through my current American Crafts collections and pulling out red, blue and white patterns.  I was able to find pieces from the Little by Little collection, On a Whim collection and the Lovely Day collection that all coordinated well together. Next, I originally planned to cut my pieces using my Silhouette Cameo but my machine was not cooperating with me so I wound up cutting each banner piece from hand.

Next, I used a star template to cut out my star pieces from blue patterned paper and white cardstock paper.  Once all of my pieces were cut out I added white foam Thickers to each blue star to spell out "USA".  Next, using fabric and lace scraps that I had on hand I cut out three pieces of fabric and one piece of lace into a pennant shape and sewed them all to a piece of jute burlap string.  Finally I used clothespins to adhere my cardstock banner pieces and star pieces to my banner.  Super cute and so easy to make.  I hope you enjoyed my project today.  Thanks for looking!
