An Invitation to Celebrate

Hello! It’s Meghann Andrew and I am so excited to be back on the American Crafts blog with you today. The 4th of July is quickly approaching, and instead of calling or texting your friends and family to help you celebrate our independence, why not make some quick and easy invitations to invite your guests in a special way?

In my opinion, invitations should be quick and easy to create, with items that come in bulk quantities or are easy to use again and again; like stamps! I used the amazing All the Good Things set 3 stamp and die set as the base for my invitations, as the burst graphics reminded me of fireworks exploding! From there, I added additional product like washi tape and rhinestones to create festive red, blue and gold invitations.

Using just three stamps from the set, I repeated them using red, navy and gold metallic ink on my smooth, white cardstock, sized at 4” x 5-1/4”. Once the ink was set, I used pens in coordinating colors to draw dashed lines from the base of the card, leading up to each circular burst.

On each card base that I stamped, I changed up the design of bursts on the background, but always keeping the same color for each stamp, saving me time having to clean the acrylic stamps in between each use.  I didn’t have any cleanup until all of the cards were stamped and completed!

After my bursts were complete, I gathered some embellishment that I had in larger quantities. Banners from the planner sticker book, gold washi tape, small, glitter alpha stickers, sheets of rhinestones and fun photo corners were used to add some bling to the card fronts. So that I didn’t use up all of the same letters on my alphabet sticker sheets after just a couple of cards, I changed up the greeting for each invitation; making each card special and unique.

After my card fronts were complete, I backed them onto Core’dinations core basics dotted cardstock in kraft, red and navy, sized at 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”. This patterned paper is awesome to use for invitations, as the back is white, allowing you to print your party details on the back without using an extra sheet of white cardstock!

I loved creating these festive invitations, and I love that each is truly unique and special—they’re the perfect way to invite your guests to what is sure to be a patriotic celebration!  Thanks for stopping by the American Crafts blog today, and happy creating!
