Hello AC fans! It’s Zinia here and today I’m back with a really fun and playful scrapbook layout!
The theme for this week is stitching but for my page I wanted to think outside the box and incorporate this technique in an unusual way. So instead of backstitching and all those wonderful stitching styles, I stitched from one edge of my page to the other. I filled my page with thin lines of thread going from one end of the page to another, kinda like giant stitches. I secured the ends of my thread with tape and then I added a few strips of raffia ribbon to make the design look more interesting.
Once my strings were in place, I used all my favorite embellishments from various American Crafts collections like Glitter Girl, Stargazer and Stay Colorful. I placed my bigger elements on top of the strings and then smaller details like stars and hearts around them. I basically wanted to create a scene like a party on electricity wires.
I also used a couple of tiny clothespins to attach some of the elements on the strings to make the design more fun and whimsical.
I attached my photo on the page using some photo corners and then I placed my title to overlap a little bit on top of the photo. This way I made sure all my elements feel connected and cohesive.
I finished off the page by adding a few gold splatters using a Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray.
