A Pair of Father’s Day Cards

DadCards

It’s time to celebrate the Dads! Let’s get our craft on and share some handmade goodness with the men in our lives. With just a handful of whimsical supplies from the On a Whim collection we can pull together a duo of Father’s Day cards.

SuperDad

To create the blue and green Hey Hey Super card, I started with white cardstock cut down to 8-1/2×5-1/2. Fold the cardstock in half and use a bone folder to get a nice, crisp crease. I trimmed of 1/4” off of the front panel and lined the inside of the card with blue polka dot wash tape. This will give the card a cool, coloful edge.

Next, I used a sentiment die cut to base the embellishments on. A banner die cut is the perfect spot for the fun inflatable camera. An enamel dot in the center of the camera adds one more layer of texture. Lastly, the chipboard “Super” gives us just the sentiment we need for our favorite Dad.

The doughnut card is for those treat loving Dads! The base of the card is exactly like the Hey Hey Super card, right down to the washi peeking through. A large white cardstock circle provides the base of the embellishments here. It’s the perfect spot for the inflatable chocolate doughnut. I tucked a large doughnut just behind the white circle and added a small blinking smiley face in the center. The On a Whim Thicker alphabets are the perfect little doughnut title. A few sprinkles of puffy stars finish off the card.

And there you have it – two handmade cards perfect for the Dads in your life!
