3 Easy Ways to use Washi Tape

Hello American Crafts Fans, Terhi here! I’m so excited to start this week of washi tapes. It seems like there are endless possibilities for using washi tape. Here are three creative ways to use the washi tape you have laying around.

These cards each have one unique idea to inspire you. Each idea is very easy and will take you only a few minutes.

One: Take it to another level.

Using washi tapes to make your own patterned paper is probably the most common way to use the tapes. The next time you do this, make another one too. Cut the extra one to smaller pieces (or use a punch) and use foam tape to adhere the pieces exactly on top of same pattern or word. This is super easy, and super fun! And if you like this, why not to build a third layer as well!

Two: Flag it.

Flags are such a popular decoration item, so why not add them to your next paper crafting project? These flags are quick and easy to make. All you do is add washi tape to a thin thread and cut the ends to a flag shape with scissors. If you like what you see, try it in a bigger scale as well.

Three: Tassel it.

These tassels are so cute and easy to make. You don’t need anything but the washi tape, some thread, and scissors to make them.

Take a stripe of the washi tape and fold it half so the adhesive surface is hidden. Make a couple more of them and use a small piece of thread to knot them together from the middle. Fold again keeping the thread in the middle, secure the folding with a piece of your tape. Cut the loose end thinner if you wish, and also cut them shorter if needed. Voilá!
